During the day or evening, you can explore the city and stroll up to the Allées, passing through the Jardin des Poètes (Poets' Garden). Stop by the monumental statue of Pierre Paul Riquet, the creator of the Canal du Midi, wander through the pedestrian streets, and enjoy lunch or dinner in the many restaurants around the Allées, in the historic heart of the city, or at the Halles Biltoki, voted "Most Beautiful Market in France," or on Place de la Madeleine. You can walk along the Canal du Midi towards the 9 locks of Fonserannes, and walk along the Orb canal bridge (5 minutes from the barge)
