The cottage was originally the gatehouse of the castle, built from 1562 onwards and itself a listed historical monument; it was therefore the building that provided access to the castle, where the guardhouse was likely located. The building was remodeled in the 18th century and underwent a complete restoration in 1995, followed by further work in 2013. It is, therefore, a very old building that has been completely renovated! Today, it is equipped with all modern comforts, including gas central heating. It has a usable floor area of 80 m² and is extended by a 20 m² porch, enclosed on three sides and opening due south onto the castle grounds. This porch constitutes an additional room where one can sit while being protected from the sun or inclement weather, ideal for a candlelit dinner! Removable equipment allows wheelchair access to the accommodation if necessary, but it cannot be considered suitable for people with reduced mobility due to the size of the toilet. While the castle itself is a heritage site worth admiring, the surrounding area offers countless attractions to discover, as well as a wide range of activities. Among other things, you can enjoy fishing (7 km away), tennis (2 km away), water sports and swimming (15 km away), and hiking or cycling.
