The edge of the Rhône Valley boasts orchards and prestigious vineyards renowned worldwide. The Boutières region features chestnut forests, the emblematic breadfruit tree of the Ardèche, while the plateau and mountains offer landscapes of volcanic peaks and lakes. Heading south, you enter the Ardèche region known for its olive oil and its inhabitants, the "Rayols," leaving behind the Ardèche known for its butter and its people from the higher elevations, the "Padgels."
