Challans Gois Community

Challans Gois Communauté, as part of its Simplified Mobility Plan, aims to promote and support sustainable mobility for daily commutes by encouraging residents and businesses to use bicycles more frequently. Starting in the summer of 2024, with support from ADEME (the French Agency for Ecological Transition), a fleet of bicycles will be available for rent across the 11 municipalities in the region.  

Challans Gois Communauté offers residents and businesses long-term rental of a fleet of bicycles: 

- muscle bikes, 

- folding bicycles, 

- electric bicycles, 

- cargo bikes of the two-wheeled type,

- cargo bikes of the tricycle type,

- longtail type cargo bikes. 

Included in the rental: basket (for electric and traditional bikes), pump, lock, and fluorescent vest

The rental service will allow you to rent a bike for a quarter, a semester or a year (renewable).  

Un service pour qui ?

The Challans Gois Communauté long-term bicycle rental service is for residents (over 15 years old) living in one of the following 11 municipalities: Beauvoir-sur-Mer, Bois-de-Céné, Bouin, Challans, Châteauneuf, Froidfond, La Garnache, Saint-Christophe-du-Ligneron, Saint-Gervais, Saint-Urbain, Sallertaine.

This service is also open to businesses located in these 11 municipalities. 

What are the conditions ?

The signing of the rental agreement is conditional upon:  

- the signing of the rental agreement by the subscriber 

- to have taken out civil liability insurance 

- not to have any medical contraindication to cycling 

- to have read and accepted the terms and conditions of rental and use  

- residing in one of the 11 municipalities of Challans Gois Communauté (Proof required) 

- be of legal age or over 15 years old with an apprenticeship contract or parental authorization 

How to benefit?

Nothing's easier !  

You can now reserve an electric bike on our platform, for a period of 3 months, 6 months or 12 months renewable. 

Your registration for the service is done online; documents and supporting evidence will be required to validate the booking. A confirmation will be sent to you by email.  

After verification of your supporting documents, you will be sent an online payment link. Once payment is made, you will be contacted as soon as a bicycle is available.  

A security deposit by check made payable to E-BIKE will be required when the bicycle is taken away:

- Traditional bicycle or folding bicycle: €250

- Electric bike: €1,000

- Cargo bikes: €2,000.

At the departure meeting, after signing the contract, you will be given a bicycle and all the equipment.  

At the end of the rental period, you simply need to arrange a time to return the bike.

Comment entretenir le vélo ?

Challans Gois Communauté prend en charge les frais de maintenance préventives des vélos.
Les rendez-vous de maintenance sont obligatoires pour chaque usager tout au long de la location.  

It will be provided by our service provider, in order to guarantee your safety and the regular maintenance of the bicycle fleet.  

Any modification or alteration of a bicycle is prohibited 

Maintenance costs other than normal wear and tear are the responsibility of the tenant and will be billed to them at the time of a maintenance appointment.
