Starting in Fougères in Ille-et-Vilaine, a superb medieval city boasting one of the largest and most extensive fortified castles in France, the greenway heads northeast. (Note that the first few kilometers are shared with the Fougères-Antrain Greenway). It passes close (1 km) to the Haute Bretagne Floral Park and continues towards Louvigné-le-Désert, then crosses into Normandy in the Manche department, reaching the villages of Les Loges-Marchis. Currently, 5 km are missing to connect to Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët, the Véloscénie cycle route, and the possibility of continuing on to Vire, Mont Saint-Michel, or Flers. The two greenways starting from its city center make Fougères an attractive place to stay, with numerous quality accommodations to discover (hotels, campsites, holiday rentals, gîtes, bed and breakfasts, etc.).
