Domaine de Bellevue Cottage: Le Cantou cottage

On the garden level of our guest house, a former 16th-century hunting lodge, Le Cantou, our spacious 100m² gîte comfortably accommodates six guests. Exposed stone walls, antique wooden doors, and 18th-century parquet flooring give this gîte its unique charm. First, in front of the gîte, the private, tree-shaded terrace—facing south—overlooks the grounds and swimming pool. You can enjoy your meals and cook there (garden furniture, barbecue), take a nap on the sun loungers, or simply observe the inhabitants of our grounds: rabbits, deer, hoopoes, woodpeckers, and more. Next, open the front door and enter the large living room where you will find a fireplace—now housing a wood-burning stove—a sofa, armchairs, and a coffee table. From the living room, discover the four other rooms: * To the left of the living room, the double bedroom with a queen-size bed (160 cm) and its en-suite bathroom opens onto the terrace. * At the far end of the living room, the quadruple bedroom with one double bed (140 cm) and two single beds (90 cm) opens onto the grounds. * To the right, you will find the separate, fully equipped kitchen with French doors opening onto the terrace. * Finally, to the right of this, the second bathroom with a shower. Settle in, make yourself a cup of tea, and enjoy the space and tranquility. For your comfort, the beds will be made upon arrival, and a welcome tray will be provided. Kitchen equipment: two-burner hob, microwave, mini-oven, kettle, coffee maker, dishwasher, washing machine. Cleaning products and kitchen linens are provided. From here, set off to explore the Dordogne region. The town of Bergerac, famous for Cyrano de Bergerac, is just 5 minutes away and offers all amenities. It's a place full of surprises. From the Cloister of the Recollects to the surprising canal on the Dordogne River, every stone here has a story to tell. On the left bank, opposite Bergerac, stands the Château de Monbazillac, offering breathtaking views of the town. A short walk away, younger visitors will find plenty to enjoy at the Château de Bridoire. Then, let yourself be guided along the Bastide Route: Eymet, Monpazier, Beaumont-du-Périgord, and Issigeac will delight you. Sports enthusiasts can divide their time between horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, golf, and canoeing on the Dordogne or Vézère rivers. As for wine lovers, the vineyards just minutes from the property will introduce you to Pécharmant, Bergerac, Rosette, and Monbazillac wines.
