Nestled in the heart of the Minervois region, the village of Argeliers, with its port on the Canal du Midi, will surprise you with its history, its winegrowers' revolt, and its abundant, generous vineyards, as distinctive as the wines they produce. The Blue Hummingbird can be your starting point for exploring our superb region. For history buffs and lovers of old stones, you'll have quick access to the majestic Cité de Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or the Cité de Minerve, with its Cathar castles, or Cistercian and Benedictine abbeys. The Canal du Midi and its towpaths, now converted into cycle paths, offer opportunities for long bike rides in a peaceful setting. For water sports enthusiasts—swimming, sailing, jet skiing—or simply those who prefer relaxing, the beaches are all nearby; Narbonne is only 20 km away.
