THE CANAL LODGE

In a fully renovated 1900s house, along the Cayenne Canal and very close to the Marennes Marina, the guesthouse offers five spacious and beautifully decorated rooms as well as a comfortable cottage for two people. It's a place to relax and the ideal starting point for exploring the Marennes Oléron region, a holiday destination where the history of the area and that of oyster farming intertwine. Our house is located 400 meters from the oyster center. During a fun and educational walk along the Cayenne Canal, you'll discover the life of oysters, a fascinating and surprising adventure. Nearby, Brouage and its marshland, the islands of Madame, Oléron, and Aix, Rochefort, Royan, Saintes, Mornac-sur-Seudre, Meschers, and Talmont-sur-Gironde, as well as La Rochelle and the Île de Ré, will reveal the treasures of Saintonge and the riches of Charente-Maritime. A multitude of walks, discoveries, and activities are available nearby, for all tastes: 5 km from Ronce-les-Bains, on the road to the beaches of the Côte Sauvage, and about twenty minutes away, the famous and magnificent La Palmyre Zoo, a delight for young and old alike, not forgetting the La Rochelle Aquarium, or the leisure activities nearby at the Château de La Gataudière (tree climbing, paintball, etc.).
