The three-star gîte Et Mouley (The Mill in Occitan) is located 3 km from the former PCL (Pierrefitte-Cauterets-Luz) electric tramway line, operated by the Compagnie du Midi from 1898 to 1949. The old Cauterets train station, built entirely of wood in a Western style, is an architectural curiosity. Designed and prefabricated by the Carde company in Bordeaux in 1897, it was reassembled in two months, like a construction set, to serve as a reception area for tourists traveling from the valley. It has been listed as a Historical Monument since 1981. As for the old railway line from Lourdes to Pierrefitte, also operated by the Compagnie du Midi, then by the SNCF, it existed from 1871 and closed permanently in 1993. For the more sporty among you, the gîte is close to the Tourmalet and the Aubisque, mythical passes of the Pyrenees as well as the great finishes of the Tour de France: Cauterets-Cambasque, Hautacam and Luz-ardiden.
