Description

A greenway in the heart of the Gard and the Cévennes foothills

The greenway ofAnduze - Lézan - Cardet, located in the department of Gard, offers a unique experience for the families, hikers and cyclistsThis 10-kilometer route, laid out on a former railway line, connects Anduze to Cardet passing through picturesque villages such as Tornac, Massillargues-Atuech and Lézan. This transformation of a former railway line, used until the 1980s for freight transport, into a path dedicated to soft mobility is a fine example of the reuse of industrial heritage for the benefit of slow tourism.

The track surface, both rough on the section Anduze - Lézan and coated with Lézan at Cardetensures smooth and pleasant traffic flow, whether for bicycles, including the VAE (Electric-assisted bicycles), or pedestrians. The facilities are designed for the safety and comfort of users: the Madeleine tunnelFor example, it has been equipped with green LED lights for a reassuring crossing.

The route also offers the opportunity to discover major sites, such as the iconic town of Anduze or the typical Mediterranean landscapes of the Gard region. The views of the Cévennes mountains and the crossing of rich natural areas make it an immersive experience in nature.

This route is also connected to other major routes such as the V70 and the V85Via the section Lezan - QuissacThis allows for connections with even longer routes across the region. Junction towards St Hippolyte du Fort, Ganges and Sumèneaccess to the gates of Nîmes with the Vaunage Green Way, and journey to the sea thanks to the Regordane, which connects to Sommières, Montpellier, then Palavas and the MediterraneanWhether for a simple family outing or a cycling adventure, this greenway is a real asset for the region, combining heritage, nature and accessibility, between stay and travel.
