Description

By bike, in the heart of Haute-Saône

La Champagney – Ronchamp greenway, in the heart of Haute-Saône, is gradually transforming into one of the most promising routes in the department. Over nearly 15 kilometersThis gentle link, orchestrated by the Rahin and Chérimont Community of Municipalities, offers an ideal route for an outing in familyWhether you choose a leisurely stroll or a more athletic walk in Biking ou VAEBefore setting off, one can consult the map of the Champagney – Ronchamp greenway to better understand the diversity of the route and prepare your stops.

The specificity of this cycle track resides in the succession of works that ensure its continuity: five footbridges, including the recently installed Corbin foundry bridge, cross the Rahin and connect previously separate areas. They guide visitors from the former gravel pits located between ronchamp et La Côte, from the Ronchamp Market Square, to the Ballastières and then towards the Coal Mine, before reaching the center of Champagney and, finally, the Champagney basin.

Along the way, several major sites are worth a stop. In Ronchamp, the proximity of the Chapel of Our Lady of the High Le Corbusier's work is an essential detour. Further on, the Ballast pitsWith their lakes and natural spaces, they offer a soothing setting conducive to relaxation. The approach to Champagney provides a better understanding of the local mining history, still visible in the landscape.

Ultimately, this greenway aims to open up to broader horizons: a connection towards Belfort, via Frahier et Chalonvillars, is being considered. It will allow connection to other major cycle routes and establish Champagney – Ronchamp as an essential link in the regional soft network.
