Map of the Greenway from Arles to Tarascon

The greenway from Arles to Tarascon is an ideal route for families who want to enjoy a safe bike ride.

This cycle path, opened in 2023, runs alongside the western bank of the Rhône and offers magnificent scenery throughout. Before setting off, it is recommended to consult the greenway map to familiarize yourself with the route and its various stages. This map will allow cyclists to plan their journey according to their preferences and abilities.

For those wishing to extend their stay, there is plenty of accommodation available along the greenway. Guesthouses, hotels, campsites, and bed and breakfasts are all available to welcome cyclists and offer them a well-deserved rest after a day of cycling. Families can enjoy this greenway in complete peace of mind, as it is specially designed for cyclists.

Benches with bike racks are regularly placed along the route, offering opportunities for rest and relaxation. In addition, a shaded rest area is located near a solar park, allowing cyclists to rest in the shade. The Arles to Tarascon greenway also offers numerous opportunities for exploration. Throughout the route, cyclists can admire the Beaucaire plain and the Costières hills, as well as the Rhône River, hidden by lush vegetation. This bike ride allows families to enjoy nature and discover magnificent landscapes.

However, it is important to note that some sections of the greenway can be challenging. For example, crossing the Philippe Lamour canal intake can be difficult due to the narrowness of the path and reduced visibility. Therefore, caution is advised in this area. Upon reaching Fourques, the route along the dike is interrupted for a short distance to allow for a section through the town. This part of the route can be a little more complex, as there is a dangerous roundabout to navigate.

However, once past this section, cyclists can reach Avenue du Vieux Pont and continue their ride safely. The Arles to Tarascon greenway also offers the possibility of extending the journey to other destinations. For example, cyclists can join the ViaRhôna towards Avignon by heading north. To the east, the Mediterranean cycle route leads to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, while to the southwest, it leads to Aigues-Mortes. Finally, to the southeast, the ViaRhôna leads to Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône.
