
The green track Promenade along the banks of the Orne, Also called Orne Blue ThreadIt offers a unique immersion along the water, between reclaimed nature and industrial heritage. Stretching for nearly 23 km, it connects Rombas en Moselle to the leisure area of Moineville en Meurthe-et-Moselle, in the heart of the region Grand EastCompletely flat, secure and on its own site, this cycle track constitutes an ideal route for the familywalkers and enthusiasts alike Biking and VAE.
What makes this route unique is its path through a former steelmaking valley undergoing a complete landscape transformation. Where blast furnaces and industrial wastelands once stood, flora and fauna have reclaimed their territory. The path meanders close to the Orne River, crosses public gardens, skirts peaceful urban neighborhoods, and spans the water via numerous elegant footbridges, some built on former railway structures.
Among the towns and villages crossed or bordered are Rombas, Vitry-sur-Orne, Homecourt, Egg, moyeuvre-great, Auboue et MoinevilleIn Homécourt, interpretive panels recall the local industrial history, while in Jœuf, Michel Platini's birthplace, the urban heritage pleasantly punctuates the walk. The slag heaps visible on the hills and the former factory sites are striking landmarks in the landscape.
