Description

By bike, in the Gard plain facing the Cévennes and Mont Ventoux

Nested in the heart of the Gard region, the greenway of Laudun-l'Ardoise offers a gentle and accessible getaway for everyone, especially families looking for a safe bike ride or walk VAEBuilt on a former railway line, it meanders peacefully through the Rhône plain, between vineyards, open woods and open fields, offering breathtaking panoramas on clear days Mount Ventoux to the east and the Cévennes to the west.

Of modest length, this cycle path begins near the RD 121, at the entrance to Laudun-l'Ardoise, and ends in open countryside at the Carto stream, on the municipal boundary. Despite its abrupt end, it unofficially continues as a 4 km paved route, following the old railway line. This extension passes through the charming villages of Connaux and Tresques...up to the old level crossing on the RD 145. This continuity allows us to imagine, in the long term, a true cycling spine linking the Rhône to Alès.

While the route doesn't offer any spectacular terrain, its tranquility and rural setting make it ideal for family outings or first e-bike rides. Users will appreciate the safety of a dedicated path. away from trafficand the simplicity of a linear path easily identifiable by consulting the map of the Laudun greenway.

This section could be integrated into a future departmental network of soft mobility routes, with connections to other cycle routes in the Gard department and, potentially, a junction with the ViaRhôna very close. In the meantime, there remains a peaceful and private interlude, to be discovered along the way.
