The Via Fluvia is one of the newest routes in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It starts in the Haute-Loire department at Lavoute-sur-Loire, north of Le Puy-en-Velay, climbs onto the plateau at Yssingeaux, and then winds its way towards Montfaucon, Dunières, and Riotord, before venturing into the Loire River at Bourg-Argental, near the Pilat massif. It finally ends in Ardèche The route extends to Annonay and can then join the Rhône Valley and its river to complete the circuit. It thus links the two major rivers, the Rhône and the Loire. Along this journey, you'll encounter majestic landscapes of high plateaus, deep valleys, and villages and towns with strong character – predominantly industrial or agricultural. A truly beautiful, varied, and distinctive route... offering a wonderful cycling experience.
