
Crossing the department of the Eure, the Évreux – Vallée du Bec Green Way unfurls its ribbon of asphalt over 42 kilometers, between the city ofÉvreux and the picturesque village of Bec-Hellouin, listed among the most beautiful villages in FranceBuilt on a former railway line, this safe cycle path appeals to cycling enthusiasts, E-bike, Gravel, rollerblading or family outings.
From the outskirts of the Évreux golf course, the route climbs gently through the forest before reaching the vast plain of Neuburg, kingdom of flax crops. Agricultural landscapes stretch as far as the eye can see, dotted with small sleepy stations, converted gatekeeper's houses, Norman farms and charming villages.
The route notably passes through The Neuburg, a dynamic town, and Harcourtfamous for its impressive medieval castle and its remarkable arboretum. At each stop, a bench, a picnic area or a water point invites you to pause, in a peaceful and authentic atmosphere.
Arrival at Bec-HellouinNestled in a verdant valley, it's a highlight. This village with its undeniable charm is home to the majestic Benedictine abbey of the same name. Not far away, the Bec river accompanies the last few kilometers, in a wooded and hilly setting conducive to escape.
The greenway extends beyond Pont Authou by Risle Valley cycle route, towards Pont-Audemer, thus providing a connection to major regional cycling routes.
