Greenway of the Cévennes foothills from Quissac to Le Vigan (V85)

The Quissac to Le Vigan greenway (V85) in the Cévennes foothills is an ideal cycle path for families wishing to explore the surrounding countryside. This 44-kilometer greenway offers a safe and pleasant route, allowing cyclists to fully appreciate the beauty of the Cévennes foothills landscapes. The greenway begins in Quissac, where cyclists can easily access the path from the D999. 

It is recommended to park on Chemin des Boulidous, as there is not yet a dedicated parking area. The greenway begins there and extends for 700 meters to the center of Quissac, where a future junction towards Alès is under construction. 

The greenway route is varied and offers magnificent scenery throughout. Cyclists can admire vineyards, forests, and views of the Cévennes mountains. They will also have the opportunity to discover several castles and silkworm farms in the area around Sauve. 

Two equestrian centers are located nearby, offering the opportunity to combine a bike ride with horseback riding. The greenway is surfaced with smooth, high-quality asphalt, providing a comfortable ride for cyclists. The path is 3 meters wide, allowing rollerbladers and people with reduced mobility to use it safely as well. Benches are placed along the path, offering places to rest and enjoy the shade. Rest and picnic areas are also provided, allowing cyclists to take a break and have a snack.
