The Molsheim - Wasselonne Green Way is an ideal cycle path for a family outing.

Built on the old railway line, this path offers a gentle and even route, passing through several picturesque villages and the first vineyards of the Alsatian hills, at the foot of the Vosges Mountains. The scenery is magnificent, and cyclists can enjoy a smooth asphalt surface, perfectly suitable for rollerblading.

To plan your ride, consult the map of the Molsheim - Wasselonne Green Way. You will find directions and distances for each section. However, it is important to note that there are no water fountains or rest areas with tables, benches, water, and toilets along the route. Fortunately, the path passes through several villages where you can stop and find amenities.

If you wish to extend your stay, you'll also find cyclist-friendly accommodations along the Green Way. Numerous guesthouses, hotels, campsites, and bed and breakfasts are available in the villages you pass through. This allows you to fully enjoy your cycling experience by exploring the region at your own pace. Once you arrive in Wasselonne, be sure to visit this beautiful town. Its charm and heritage are well worth a stop. If you're a more athletic cyclist, you can also continue your journey on roads to Saverne.

However, it's important to note that this section of the route is not suitable for families. There are no signs between Romanswiller and Marmoutier, and the area is very hilly, with several challenging climbs. This route is therefore best suited to more experienced cyclists. Interestingly, the railway line continues beyond Wasselonne, and its conversion into a continuous greenway to Marmoutier would be feasible, thus avoiding the steep inclines. This would offer a more accessible option for cyclists of all levels.
