This stage, covering nearly 20 km, The Saône-Moselle Blue Route takes you from Thoissey in Mâcon (or vice versa), along a peaceful and safe route, between river landscapes, charming villages and natural wonders. Ideal for a bike ride with family or friends, this route offers a perfect balance between cultural discoveries and immersion in nature.

From ThoisseyA charming little town with a discreet but rich heritage, take the time to visit it.St. Madeleine Church, which houses paintings from Sarrabat, as well as theApothecary and the ArboretumThe route begins with a pleasant, stabilized towpath along the Saône River. This section, renovated in 2023, guarantees optimal comfort while offering a beautiful immersion in the alluvial plain.

You then reach the Port of ByA peaceful spot where a footbridge allows you to cross the river. From there, the route branches off onto a path reserved for non-motorized transport, which crosses a protected meadow. Natura 2000This protected natural area is a true haven for local wildlife, including numerous bird species. Keep your eyes peeled: herons, cormorants, or black kites may spot you along the way.

After crossing the 51 RDthe route joins the Four Arches RoadA quiet shared lane winds gently to a safe section, protected by low walls, leading to the François Mitterrand bridge roundabout. This marks the entrance to Builder, a city of history and culture.

Arriving at BuilderDon't miss the chance to stroll through the city center. Wooden HouseBuilt at the end of the 15th century, it is one of the oldest buildings in the city. "The Feather Trail" walking route guides you in the footsteps of Lamartine, the famous local poet.
