Explore an iconic section of The Vélomaritime – EuroVélo 4, who links Calais to Gravelines on 27 kilometers of a varied itinerary, between beaches, nature reserves and military heritageEasily accessible from the Calais-Ville and Calais-Fréthun (TGV) train stations ou GravelinesThis step invites you to explore the riches of the coastline of Hauts-de-France at the pace of the bicycle.

The departure is at Blériot-Plage, the seaside resort of Calais. From the very first pedal strokes, the route immerses you in the maritime atmosphere, with beautiful views of the English Channel and, in clear weather, the white cliffs of Dover In the distance. You cross Calais, France's first gateway to England, via a network of urban cycle paths, which takes you through some of the city's must-see sights: the belfry listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Sitethe spectacular City of Lace and Fashion, or the Calais Dragon, an astonishing mechanical creature that animates the seafront.

Leaving the city, the landscape opens up and the atmosphere becomes more peaceful. Between Calais and Oye-Plagethe route continues on rural roads and dedicated cycle paths, far from the main roads, ideal for safe progress. You then enter the "Land of the Wateringues", a region shaped by water, typical of the Maritime Flanders, where canals, polders and wet meadows create a unique landscape.
