Modular villages serving greenways and territories

Greenways, symbols of sustainable mobility and reconnection with nature, attract a growing number of users each year. Cyclists, hikers, and slow-tourism enthusiasts are looking for practical services and welcoming places suited to their needs. In this context, the association LéClé France, winner of the program France 2030 program, proposes an innovative concept: modular training and service villages installed along greenways.

This ambitious project, which plans to open several dozen of these villages within 5 years, combines social logic, ecological transition and local development to address the contemporary challenges of the territories.

A multi-service space designed for users of greenways

At the heart of this project, the modular village is intended to be a a true modern "village square"offering a range of services tailored to both local residents and travellers. Designed to be located in strategic spots along greenways, these multifunctional spaces combine practicality and user-friendliness.

Services offered include:

  • Outdoor café and restaurant: A relaxing space to share a meal or quench your thirst after a walk.
  • Bicycle repair workshop: An essential service for cyclists facing unexpected mechanical problems.
  • Laundry and restrooms: Practical infrastructure for users passing through.
  • Connected lockers: A secure way to store belongings or recharge electrical equipment.
  • Accommodation: Accommodation options for extending a stay or exploring the surrounding area.

These villages become essential points of passagefacilitating travel while providing a pleasant and safe experience for all visitors.

A major impact on the attractiveness of the territories

Beyond providing direct services to users, these villages play a crucial role in the development and attractiveness of the regions. Each facility is accompanied by a economic and social dynamics designed to enhance local resources and meet the specific needs of the region.

  1. Boosting tourist appeal
  2. By becoming essential stops along greenways, these villages enhance the brand image of their regions and attract new visitors. Their strategic location along the routes also boosts business for local shops and services.
  3. Creating economic opportunities
  4. The establishment of these villages promotes the local economy, particularly through the use of short supply chains (local products for the open-air cafes) and the development of complementary services (accommodation, leisure activities).
  5. Supporting the ecological and social transition
  6. These villages fit perfectly into a logic of decarbonization and energy transitionby integrating sustainable practices such as upcycling and the circular economy. They also provide essential services for local populations, while contributing to social inclusion.

A training program integrated into the project

One of the pillars of the concept proposed by LéClé France lies in its educational component. These modular villages are designed to become work-study training centers, directly located in the heart of peri-urban areas.

What are the objectives for the training?

  • Addressing in-demand professions: To train residents in key skills related to the circular economy, upcycling, decarbonization and energy transition.
  • Guaranteeing local employability: The courses offered allow learners to obtain a Bac+2 level diploma and to enter the job market within their own territory.
  • Supporting career transitions: To offer a second chance to people far removed from employment while meeting the specific needs of local businesses.

A concrete social impact

Each village aims to train between 30 and 40 young people each year. These programs not only provide access to qualifications, but also to stable jobs that are in line with the ecological and digital transitions.

A turnkey project for local authorities

This project does more than just offer an innovative idea. LéClé France supports each local authority throughout the entire process, ensuring simple and effective implementation.

The steps include:

  • Analyse of needs : Define the services and infrastructure needed for the territory.
  • Seeking funding: Helping to mobilize subsidies, particularly within the framework of programs like France 2030.
  • Administrative management : Simplify procedures and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Shared operation: For 10 years, LéClé France collaborated with the community to ensure the success of the village.

Thanks to his approach modular and "plug and play"Each village can easily integrate into the territory, regardless of the local configuration.
