The Vélodyssée: Lacanau - Lege cap Ferret greenway (EuroVelo 1)

Dunes, forest, and the ocean stretching as far as the eye can see: this section of the Velodyssée is all about wide open spaces and rejuvenation before heading towards the Arcachon Basin and its radically different atmosphere. Rather than turning off towards Lège, you can continue to the western tip of the Arcachon Basin and the Cap Ferret peninsula, with its stilted houses and delightful pine forests. This alternative is well worth the detour!
