Vilaine Green Way: Guipry Messac - Redon (V42)

The two ends of this section, Guipry-Messac and Redon, are intersections of multiple greenways, making them strategically interesting stops or destinations for slow tourism. In Guipry-Messac, you can branch off towards Châteaubriant to the east, which opens onto the greenways of the Pays de la Loire region (Loire-Atlantique and Mayenne departments), and towards Ploërmel to the west to explore other greenways in Central Brittany. In Redon, you connect to the Vélodyssée cycle route, heading south towards Nantes, west towards Central Brittany, Morbihan, and then Finistère. A wide variety of quality accommodations (hotels, campsites, bed and breakfasts, gîtes, and even unusual options) are available to welcome you for a stopover or a longer stay, much to the delight of families or groups of friends. Starting from Guipry-Messac, the Green Way follows the Vilaine River and serves the various villages all the way to Redon: Langon, Ste Anne Sur Vilaine, Guemene Penfao, Masserac, La Chapelle De Brain, Ste Marie, Avessac. Plenty of opportunities to stop and stroll, proudly embracing the principles of slow tourism.
