Description

The Scandibérique, the French section of EuroVelo 3, is an iconic cycling route that crosses France for over 1700 kilometers, connecting Trondheim (Norway) to Cap Fisterra (Spain). This route is ideal for families, offering a cycle path accessible to all levels of experience, whether on a traditional bicycle or an e-bike (electric-assist bicycle). Before setting off, it's advisable to consult the Scandibérique greenway map, a practical tool for planning your stages and the sites you want to discover.

This route takes you on a journey through several towns and cities rich in heritage, including Chartres, Bourges, Tours, and Poitiers. Each stop offers the chance to savor diverse landscapes, from urban areas and unspoiled nature to historical sites. For example, in Chartres, the famous cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands majestically. In Tours, the Centre-Val de Loire region boasts breathtaking castles and vineyards to explore.

The Scandibérique's unique appeal also lies in its ability to connect with other greenways, such as EuroVelo 6 leading to Nantes or the Vélodyssée in Bordeaux. This network of routes allows cyclists to broaden their horizons and discover additional regions by bike. In Paris, it's even possible to join the Véloscénie, a route that links the capital to Mont-Saint-Michel, offering breathtaking panoramic views.

Whether you are a beginner or experienced cyclist, the Scandibérique is an adventure to experience with family or friends, allowing you to combine physical activity and cultural discoveries at each stage.
