EuroVelo 6 - The Loire by Bike

The 800km Loire à Vélo cycle route crosses the Centre and Pays de la Loire regions through six departments (Cher, Loiret, Loir-et-Cher, Indre-et-Loire, Maine-et-Loire, and Loire-Atlantique) and six major cities (Orléans, Blois, Tours, Saumur, Angers, and Nantes). This famous cycle route forms the first section of the EuroVelo route, which connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Black Sea over more than 3600km. Linking Cuffy to Saint-Brevin through the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it offers a breathtaking panorama of the French countryside: vineyards, charming villages, castles… Numerous services are available to tourists and visitors: accommodations and tourist sites with the "Accueil Vélo" (Cyclist Welcome) label, the "Train Vélo Loire" (Loire Cycle Train) service which allows free travel from Orléans to Le Croisic (approximately 20 accessible stations), parking, rest areas and picnic areas…
